A long time coming: Ivy City Passive House Block A earned passive house certification today! We've been working on this project, in a fantastic team with Matt Fine of Zavos A+D, Theresa Hamm, Andrew Modley, Daniel Hines of Habitat for Humanity since 2010. Then a pioneering affordable housing, multi-family project, it took some time and work with many volunteers to be completed - but with flying colors and a 0.2 ACH @ 50Pa air-tightness rating.
These homes feature Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal Collectors, Klearwall Triple Pane Windows from Ireland, now invisible but high-performign pro clima vapor-open weather-resistive air barrier membranes, a polyiso insulated membrane roof, integrated in modern-vernacular architecture which is in tune with the existing neighborhood fabric. We wish the homeowners happy and healthy living in their homes and thank our project partners for this incredible opportunity!
